Now that we’re on week three, more and more of our house is coming together. A lot of the spaces are still missing one or two piece so we’re going to jump around a bit. We have been through the formal living room and the half bathroom, but this week we’re going to head upstairs to the tiny princess’ room. I have linked all of the sources at the bottom of this post.
This sweet little space was the easiest to put together because we had all/most of the items already. Though I did add a few adorable new pieces to bring it all together. Things like a new bed (due to the movers breaking her previous one), an accent wall, and this beautiful new area rug.
Since before Lily was born, her room has maintained the same color scheme – coral, mint, and gold. It has grown and evolved with her, but still remains similar to how it started. For her new room Sherwin Williams was kind enough to gift us the paint used to complete it. It’s a beautiful light coral color called Mellow Coral.
Her previous light fixture was a very outdated ceiling fan with pink blades and little shades on each bulb. It was not really the look that I was going for, so this Vassar fan from Kichler was the perfect clean, simple update.
With the new house being entirely hardwoods, I knew she would need an area rug to complete the space. My eyes had been set on this lattice patterned one for quite a while and I was so excited to finally grab it.
I planned to add a gallery wall above her dresser, but even with the things we brought from her old room, I knew we needed a few more pieces to complete it. Adding pieces with a purpose and a meaning are very important to me.
Trend Lab gifted us this adorable unicorn wall clock which will be helpful as Lily grows up and learns to tell time. It’s wonderfully made and hangs with ease. The unicorn horn is even coated with gold sparkles to tie into the rest of her space.
Gifting those I love with important, meaningful pieces is my favorite. This map of the stars from Greater Skies allows you to create a map of what the stars looked like on any day you choose. For Lily I chose to have a map made of the stars on the day she was born with a beautiful quote. It was so easy create as all I needed was the date, time, and location.
Another addition to her room was this simple canvas teepee from Little Dove which she loves. It was easy to put together and allows you to add any little touches you’d like to personalize. I added an ivy garland with clip in peony blooms from JoAnn Fabrics for a feminine touch. The faux shag area rug was a Walmart grab along with some throw pillows we previously had.
The small gallery wall above the teepee is put together with Etsy prints I purchased before Lily was born and album size frames from Target.
This beautiful new metal bed was a steal from IKEA and has the perfect gold accents to match her room. When I saw this pinch pleat comforter, I knew she had to have it because it was the perfect girly touch. Coupled with this floral quilt which tones it down while tying all of the colors in her room together. Another girly feature in her room is this nightstand with a heart shaped accent on either end.
If you remember the post for Lily’s big girl room in our previous house, these “bookshelves” will be familiar. I wanted a floral, garden themed space so I used garden boxes from Walmart to create these shelves.
I had the pleasure of working with Coloray Decor to add this beautiful accent wall to our little lady’s room. This floral pattern is Anemone Fall and it’s 100% removable. If you decide to take it down, move it to another room, or have to move houses at some point – you can!
We’re starting to work on the process of going to bed and waking up at certain times. With the help of our Little Hippo Mella children’s clock, my kids are starting to learn when it is okay to get up by looking at the color on their clock. It is also a nightlight and noise machine.
This dollhouse bookshelf was a $40 Facebook Marketplace pick up. We had these gold heart curtains before and had bought them from HomeGoods. The vanity was actually mine which I passed it down to her after we moved because I no longer needed it. With this hairpin stool was the perfect little place for our lady sit and put on her pretend makeup.
Overall I wanted Lily to have a space of her own that was feminine, somewhere she could play and feel at home, and a place that would grow with her over the years. I’m incredibly happy with how her room turned out and definitely think it’s fit for the princess that she is.
Above you will find the links to all of the sources that helped put her bedroom together. If there is something you’d like more information about that I haven’t linked, feel free to ask!
