We’re officially coming up on four months in our new house! Slowly but surely we’ve continued on the path to making it into our home. Both big and small steps are being made everyday.
One of the largest projects that we’ve had to tackle is lighting. This house had a lot of outdated fixtures and many rooms that didn’t even have a light fixture. Sounds crazy to me for someone to have taken the lighting with them.. but that is exactly what had happened.
In the beginning of our journey, I partnered with Kichler to renovate various lighting issues in our home. I’m going to share with you the stunning new lights we ended up with as well as the links so you can take a look for yourself! Let’s get started!
Powder room
When I shared the before and after our half bath, I touched on the light fixture makeover. You can view that project in full detail here. The previous light was dim, grungy, and very outdated. I wanted something to fit the farmhouse style we have that offered a much brighter light. I opted for the Karmarie 3 Light Vanity Light in polished nickel. The beautiful hobnail pattern on the change gives me so much antique farmhouse feels, I knew it would be the perfect choice.
Family room
For our family room, which is the room we spend the most time in outside of the kitchen, I wanted something rustic and clean looking. We chose with Trevor II LED 60″ Fan in brushed stainless steel. The blades have a worn wood look to them which helps to bring in the rustic feel.
Master bedroom
Our master bedroom is bright, airy and gives off an ocean feel to it. It is probably because of the beautiful Sherwin Williams Sea Salt that covers the walls. I really wanted something with a nautical feel to it. I know this Colerne LED 52″ Fan would fit the bill. The weathered white blades match the light colored furniture and the brushed nickel metal touches add the nautical touch.
Master bathroom
The master bathroom had a dated pendant that looked at this it came out of a castle in Beauty and the Beast. This Joelson 3 Light Convertible Pendant is adjustment in height and added the updated but simple look I wanted.
Kid’s rooms
With the kids rooms being so filled with color and patterns, I wanted to go really simple for each of them. For Camden we chose the Starkk 52″ Fan, while Lily got the Vassar LED 52″ Fan both in white. I didn’t want the lights to be too loud and clash with any of the decor these rooms hold. They’re both simple, clean lines, and beautiful.
We learned first hand that updating a light fixture can transform the entire feel of the room. It changes the entire look in such a simple way. Have you updated any of your light fixtures in your house?
