I’ve always loved creating things myself rather than buying them. Especially when it comes to home decor pieces.
Coming across Sola Wood Flowers, I was so excited about the various DIY craft projects they offered. After carefully weeding through each of the options, I selected the Wagon Wheel Craft Kit shown here.
After I received the package arrived I started by spray painting the wagon wheels to the color I desired – Rustoleum Metallic Flat Chestnut.
I enlisted my son to help me with the spray painting which he thoroughly enjoyed! Once we fully painted them and let them dry, we were ready to decorate them.
The Wagon Wheel Craft Kit comes with a raw wood wagon wheel cutout, star filler sample, leather leaf filler sample, flocked dusty miller faux filler sample, and 13 sola wood flowers. You are able to select dye bottle colors to change your flowers to match your home.
I chose to keep my flowers their natural color because the neutral tone is beautiful and matches my home well. I carefully placed each piece on the wagon wheel to get an idea of what I wanted to decorate. Then using my hot glue gun I attached the leaves, filler, and flowers to the wagon wheel.
After I was finished, I took a step back and checked for any holes that I thought needed to be filled. Then I went back with my hot glue gun and filled them as nessecary.
Whether you’d like to diy a wagon wheel such as I did or have another craft that catches your eye – Sola Wood Flowers is a great place to start. The craft kit options includes wagon wheels, centerpieces, and bouquets. Perfect for an upcoming party, wedding, or even just to keep constant blooms around your home!
