Well, hi!
When I posted the kids boo baskets on October 1st, I didn’t anticipate that I wouldn’t share on here again until Feb 1st. However, here we are. The rest of ’24 was a whirlwind consisting of so much chaos and now that I feel like I have found my footing a little, let’s talk about the move!
If you’ve been around a bit you know that our kids started new schools this fall. This put a 45+ min commute (each way) on our plate every day. We were managing with meals on-the-go and my husbands conference rooms, but it wasn’t feasible long term. There was a house on the market that caught our eye, we toured, and the ball started rolling.
Around mid November we settled on a house similarly sized to our previous one, 20 mins closer to the kids school and Michael’s office, in a country club giving us access to a pool and golf course. If you know us, you know that was ideal for everyone. We took the rest of the month to clean, paint, and start moving boxes over before fully moving in the beginning of December.
We’re settling in and making this house our home little by little. It’s been such a fun experience with the kids because they’re older and get to help with some of the decisions. We have been trying to make the process a family effort – even the minor tasks that no one really wants to do, but have to be done. Together we also got to put together some ideas for how they envision their rooms and I’ve been busy making their visions a reality.
I’m going to start sharing our vision boards for the house in the coming week to give you an idea of what the plans are, but for now, I hope you enjoyed some behind the scenes of how it’s been going. I have also been very busy putting together Pinterest boards that you can browse here.
