Let me start by saying that I cannot believe I’m writing a post about our son’s TENTH birthday. It doesn’t even seem possible. Nevertheless here we are! Cam’s right on target and hitting 10 years. We were originally planning a hunting theme party at home.. until our boy requested that we host him and his friends at a paintball field. While I’m all for throwing a party, I’m also completely open to letting them choose places that they love and want to spend time.
Because we started with a hunting theme, I had a camouflage color scheme in mind. I decided to merge the typical camouflage coloring with the paintball splatter concept. It’s been pretty easy to pull together as there are a lot of party themes built around camouflage (military, army men, hunting, etc.).
The field provides everything needed for playing, so we opted to gift a few extras as favors. I grabbed tactical gloves, para cord bracelets, neck gaiters, and silicone grenade water bottles. They’re simple and useful while also fitting into our theme.
We’re going to round up the kids at our house and transport them to the field, playing time is roughly 3 hours with pizza and cake to follow before we head back. Decorating is taken off my plate, but I’m still setting up the picnic tables with festive party ware and favors (I couldn’t help myself).
