Creating a fun space for the kids has always been something I put a lot of emphasis on. I want to make sure that no matter the occasion, my kids feel like they’re welcome and wanted.
Thanksgiving dinner is no different. This year I put together the sweetest little set up in the playroom. They have been playing ‘Thanksgiving’ for the last few weeks in preparation and once the big comes, I will relocate the table set up upstairs where we will actually eat.
The first thing I grabbed was this tableware from Re-Play. Their products are hands down my FAVORITE because they’re durable, washable, and sustainable. Plus you can mix and match for any theme!
Mixing orange, red, and yellow Re-play products I was able to give each of my little’s their own place setting. I picked up the ‘give thanks’ napkins at Walmart a year or two ago (we keep the extras) and the ‘gobble’ straws from Kirkland’s on clearance a few weeks ago.
Using red, orange, gold, and white balloons that I had on hand I created a balloon garland to drape over their table. It was a 15 minute project with the help of a balloon pump and leftover materials.
I put the finishing touches on their set up by adding a ‘grateful’ banner from Target dollar spot last year and our two favorite Thanksgiving books. Do you create a special space for your kids at dinner?
