It’s hard to believe that we’re only 10 days out from Christmas. I’m very excited, but also trying to savor every bit of the holiday season. I know that there are plenty of parents that are not yet finished with their shopping (and that’s okay) and also plenty of parents that are still trying to find the right gifts for their kids. I have put together a tween gift guide for late shoppers. All of which can be ordered and arrive before Christmas! Let’s get started, shall we?
We have had plenty of years where we have been starting to shop, half through shopping, or completely finished by this time. It all depends on the season and what the kids are asking for. I can happily say that our Christmas shopping is one. hundred. percent. wrapped up (literally and figuratively). Check out previous gift guides here.
tween boys

My ten year old son has a lot of hobbies that are difficult to shop for (fishing, hunting, camping, etc.) in the winter time. Putting together gifts that he can ‘play’ with at this stage is easier said than done. I also try to incorporate things that are practical and useful over time. I feel like I was able to pick a few good things that fit all of the wants and needs.

tween girls

My nine year old daughter on the other day was a lot more difficult to shop for. Which is not usually the case. She filled her Christmas list with Barbies, babies, and all of the American Girl dolls she could find in the catalogs.. but I know deep down, she won’t play with them much. The line between little girl and tween is being tiptoed across at this stage of her life. While I didn’t want to buy all of the little girl requests, I also didn’t want to skate right passed them and force her into tween hood too early. I ended up with a mix of toys, crafts/kits, books, games, and a few tween girls beauty finds. In the end I feel good about the combination of childhood and tween that was pulled together.
