shows I am tuning into this fall

The list of my favorite things about fall is quite long. Cozy sweaters, slow cooker recipes, leaves changing color, cooler weather, pumpkin flavored desserts.. I could go for a while. Though one of the aspects that tops the list is the TV line up. Yes, I know.. it is pretty terrible that one of my favorite things about fall is the ability to veg out in front of the TV. But whatever.

One of my favorite moments with the hubs is sitting together on the couch, cuddled up with dessert, after the kids have gone to bed, catching up on our shows.

So many shows come back on during this time and many new shows debut. With some of my favorites coming back, I thought I would share some of the series premieres I am looking forward to tuning in to watch.

You (Lifetime)

Penn Badgley has been adorable, and underutilized, since his Gossip Girl days. I think there is something dorky yet charming about him. The concept of the series is that he becomes completely infatuated with a woman he meets, to a dangerous level.

FBI (CBS)

I am a fan of basically every series created by Dick Wolf. Law and Order has been a long standing favorite of mine. Another crime series coming out could be one of the greatest or worst things to happen. The show follows the inner workings of a New York FBI office.

New Amsterdam (NBC)

Medical dramas including a main character who’s mission is to do better. I have a soft spot for anyone trying to make the world a kinder, more caring place for others. This series follows the new medical director that is trying to reform a neglected facility. Can’t wait to tune into a medical series that appears to have slightly less ‘who is sleeping with who drama’ than others.

Proven Innocent (Fox)

After being mildly let down over the legal drama ‘For the People’, I am hoping that this one is more interesting. This series is all about a criminal defense firm that focuses their attention on freeing the wrongly convicted. The lead lawyer was also wrongfully convicted, along with her brother, when she was 18. She has made it her mission to help anyone else who has been in the same situation.

Single Parents (ABC)

Being a single parent has to be hard, especially when you’re relying on friends to help. This series follows a group of single parents while they navigate single parenthood and social lives. The potential for comedy is high with a cast like theirs.

The Fix (ABC)

The series follows a high profile attorney through her case against an A list actor which she ultimately loses. After taking time off due to the derailment of her career, the same actor is suspected for another murder, and she comes back to try him again.

A Million Little Things (ABC)

The most real feel series coming out this fall has to be A Million Little Things. A group of friends that experience a terrible loss begin to realize that life is too short to live unhappily.

The Village (NBC)

They say it takes a village and they are not lying. Whether that means a group of moms, your work friends, or your neighbors. Everyone needs a village. This series follows a group of neighbors in a Brooklyn apartment building that have become each others village.

In addition to the shows above our DVR will be recording the timeless favorites. Things like Chicago PD/Med/Fire, Greys Anatomy, How to Get Away With Murder, This Is Us,  Law & Order SVU, and so many more. What shows are you looking forward to this fall? Do you stick to your old favorites or do you venture out and watch the debuts?
