behind the scenes: weft extensions with Coco Leigh Hair Boutique

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Coco Leigh Hair Boutique. All opinions are 100% mine.

Having long hair has always been a goal of mine, but not always a reality. Before it actually grows I get impatient and cut it shorter. I know that makes very little sense, but that is the truth.

In addition to not being patient enough to let it grow, I’m also someone who doesn’t have super thick hair. When my hair does start to grow it still very thin and scraggly looking on the ends which is discouraging to say the least.

Eight week hair growth

I had been interested in extensions for quite a while before speaking to my stylist Nicole. We decided on weft extensions and she answered every question that I had with ease. Putting all of my fears and concerns to rest.

Let’s talk about the basics. The hair extensions themselves are 100% natural hair which is available in multiple lengths and textures to ensure a perfect match. They are installed trough a damage-free process without the use of glue, heat, solvents, tape, and strings. The beaded flat wefts use a combination of small beads to thread your hair into the extensions. They are tough and durable while also being soft and flexible for your everyday life.

After about four to six weeks you will return to your stylist and have the weft removed. They will then load new beads onto the loops and reinstall them weft into your hair. The hair tends to last about a year before new hair will need to be purchased.

After reinstall, showing no sign of the weft

Nicole makes the process look effortless with her ability to uninstall and reinstall in such a short period of time. It doesn’t hurt and requires very little from myself.
