Disney DIY’s with Cricut

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. I take pride in hand selecting the brands that I work with and represent. All opinions expressed below are 100% mine.

If you didn’t already know, we’re headed to Walt Disney World this month for the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Nana (my mom) who has been Mickey Mouse obsessed for years ALSO turned 50 this year so it was the perfect time for us to revisit the most magical place on Earth.

To celebrate our upcoming trip I’m putting together some special items to take with us and gift to my family that is coming along. For projects like this I always turn to my Cricut Explore Air, but after four years I have parted with that machine and upgraded! They were kind enough to send me the new Cricut Explore 3. It has been a totally easy transition as I was already familiar with this machine. The biggest difference is the speed in which the newer version can cut and write, plus it doesn’t require a cutting mat anymore.

Here is what I like to call my Cricut creation station. This shelving unit holds all of my machines (Explore 3, EasyPress, and EasyPress Mini) and tools (extra blades, weeder, portable trimmer, rotary cuter, Infusible Ink Markers, etc.). In the totes you will find all of the various types of vinyl I have on hand and customizable blanks. If I’m working on something specific, I will place those supplies in the basket on the wall.

Let’s jump right into the Disney project supplies I will be using with the Explore 3. For this trip I’m going to be making some shirts for myself and my mom. I have a Women’s V-neck T-shirt and a Crew Neck T-shirt. I picked up this Everyday Iron-On Mesh Mickey and the Glitter Iron-On Mesh Mickey vinyl in a few colors to create a super Mickey centered design.

We found a few inspiration shirts on Pinterest then I headed into Cricut Design Space to create my own spin on the design. This is the inspiration and my version using Cricut graphics and fonts.

After using the Explore 3 to cut each of the various layers, I placed them together on the shirt to make sure that it came together properly. Then I used my EasyPress to apply the vinyl layer by layer. In the end it came out beautifully! See for yourself.

I also picked up the reusable Starbucks cold cups and added some fun designs to them for each of the kids. With some Premium Vinyl (Permanent) that I had on hand, I created deconstructed Mickey and Minnie pieces and applied them in a scattered form all over the cup.

When you have a Cricut machine the possibilities of creating are endless! Take a look at some of my previous Cricut projects on my blog. You can also take a look at the Cricut blog for more ideas.
