summer sensory bins – Crayola Play Sand partnership

Our summer break is right around the corner! For some of you it may have already started. I love putting together little crafts, activities, and experiments for my kids. This helps me to keep them entertained while I get a few things done before any outings we have planned or at the end of a long day to pass time. They are often seasonal or holiday themed, in this case that is theme is summer.

In partnership with Crayola Play Sand I put together summer theme sensory bins for each of my kids. I picked a summer theme for each and went to work gathering supplies. My two themes were underwater animals and mermaids. I wanted to add in a mix of materials to make it as much fun as possible.

I filled two Dollar Tree bins about 1/4-1/2 way full with Crayola Play Sand in the purple and blue color. I added the kids resin name letters to continue with letter and name recognition. The plastic ocean animals and mermaids were grabbed from Joann (linked here and here). We had the wooden stars, seashells, and ocean rocks on hand in my craft supplies. Then I grabbed the pastel beads (in the mermaid bin) from Michaels (linked here).

If you’re looking for something fun to keep your kids busy, I highly suggest Crayola Play Sand. It can be used in sensory bins like I have, in a sand/water table, or even in a full size sandbox. You can pick it up at your local Walmart (usually in the outdoor section). I’m also hosting a giveaway on my IG right now, so go enter!
