Valentine’s Day baskets 2022

The month full of love is coming up quickly! Filling up their little love buckets is always a priority of mine, but adding extra special touches during the various holidays makes it even more fun. Whether it is seasonal or holiday specific – curating little baskets for the kids to enjoy is a guilty pleasure of mine. Sometimes this means a new pair of pajamas, book, and a stuffy. Sometimes it is a basket of theme snacks, crafts, and toys. It usually depends on what I come across in my travels. You can take a look at last years love baskets here.

When I put these baskets together I include pajamas and books. Because kids grow so quickly and their reading levels change, it is one of the easiest things. I like to make sure that I add something they can do/craft. This year I couldn’t decide so I chose a few different options.

Lily has been a big fan of beanie babies since she was very small, so when I see the seasonal ones I feel compelled to grab them. I also picked up Valentine’s Day pop-its because that has been a hit lately. My kids take them to the store, in the car, if we’re going to be waiting somewhere, etc. Then I grab bath bombs or soap, depending on what I come across.

Usually I gift the kids these baskets on the first day of February, but I have decided to wait this year and gift them closer to Valentine’s Day. When they receive them that early I sometimes feel like they don’t really grasp what they’re for. I’m aiming for the Friday before to allow them the weekend to enjoy everything.

The kids baskets are almost always identical. In this case they each received the same things but a variation of them (ie. red vs. pink pop-its). It gets me out in front of any battle they might have and keeps everything super fair. Plus with them being close in age, they are typically into the same things.

Sometimes my seasonal gift is a set of pajamas and a book. Sometimes it is a basket of goodies. There is no requirement for something like this. You don’t have to make them extravagant. They don’t have to make them a full basket. You don’t have to make them at all. I’m strictly trying to create some inspiration for you this holiday! Enjoy and happy almost love day!
