Valentine’s Day love baskets

Disclaimer: Please remember that putting together gifts like this is not required. Your loved ones will feel your love no matter what. You are and always will be the magic that makes every holiday special.

Creating Valentine’s Day love baskets in easily one of my favorites! There are lots of people that will say Valentine’s Day is a gimmick, a consumer driven holiday, etc. However, I will take any chance to let my humans know how much I love them. Before the phenomenon of Instagram and ‘Love Baskets’ I poured my creativity into gift giving. Now that it has taken off and is shared by almost everyone – I pull together my goodies ahead of time to share with you all.

I have grown to love the jelly baskets and decided to grab them for Love Baskets this year. After I gift these to the kids I will take the baskets and store them for another holiday. Previously I utilized Dollar Spot baskets (2021) and Spritz cardboard heart boxes (2022). You can use any kind of container you’d like – I usually shop my home first! The Chalk Designs by Me tags are new this year and add such a special touch.

the base of the Valentine’s Day love baskets

The base to my Valentine’s Day love baskets, or for any holiday, is pajamas and books. Kids grow so dang quickly they are always in need for pajamas or maybe a theme shirt/sweatshirt. The same goes for their reading level. It changes all of the time so finding new theme books to fit the level they are on right now.

Unfortunately the pajamas that I grabbed for the kids are sold out, but I have linked a few in stock options here, here, and here. We have a collection of Valentine’s Day books geared towards little ones, but for the first year we will be adding chapter book options (cue the tears). Our new library additions are Mimi + the Cutie Catastrophe and The Alien Next Door: The Mystery Valentine.

the basket fillers

Now comes the fun! When filling our Valentine’s Day love baskets – I’m a big fan of adding things that are wearable, reusable, functional, and creative. This year for wearable goodies I added silly headbands (and hair clips) from the Dollar Spot. I picked up a bracelet Grab Bag from JES Studios for my girl which she’s going to love! To add something creative I snagged these Mini Gem Art Kits (with a little heart theme) from OOLY and the fluffy donut pens also from Dollar Spot. I added fun Valentine’s Day face masks and bath confetti to round out the basket with something functional. The final touches are always a few little candies (this year I went with nerds ropes, ring pops, and tic-tacs). I also had to grab this silly Valentine’s Day gummy lunchable kit purely because my kids were going to obsess over them!

Can’t wait to see what you all create! Be sure to tag me with your goodies!
