Christmas desserts that will win the party!

Up until the day before our family Christmas dinner I had no idea what I wanted to make for dessert. Unlike Thanksgiving, Christmas doesn’t have a standard dessert dish in my head.

I took to Google and searched for ‘Christmas desserts’. There were a ton of options, not surprising, but I narrowed it down to two different dishes. If you’re like me you not only want your desserts to be yummy, but there are bonus points received for also being festive.

Here’s what I went with.

Christmas Lasagna

This recipe is a dessert lasagna put together with layers of different flavors. For the base you create + bake a shortbread cookie, then a peppermint cheesecake layer, followed by a white chocolate pudding layer, topped with Cool Whip, marshmallows, and holiday M&M’s. I opted to leave out the peppermint extract and have that as a cheesecake layer. You can find the recipe I used here.

Christmas Wreath Cake

We already have a gooey dessert and my relatives made peanut butter truffles, so I felt like we needed a cake option. After a little searching I found a Christmas Wreath Cake. You can make this from scratch if you’d like, but I followed the recipe and went with pre-made options.

With a boxed white cake mix you will prepare it as the directions say. Once you’ve done that you will divide the batter up and add food coloring to two of the bowls. This is how you will create the wreath colors inside. You will also divide the frosting to create the wreath decorations. I followed this recipe that I found here.
