treating yourself this Mother’s Day

This post was sponsored Spa on the Boulevard. All the reviews and opinions expressed in this post are based on my personal view.

Every year Mother’s Day starts to approach and so many of us struggle with gift ideas. Whether you’re shopping for your mother, a close friend, or putting together ideas for your kids/husband. It always seems to be difficult to come up with what we want. Instead of another bouquet of flowers, a card that will get lost in the shuffle of life, or chocolates that go straight to your thighs.. let’s talk about a gift of relaxation. A spa day.

Now a ‘spa day’ can look different for everyone. Some of us may want a simple mani pedi and interrupted time to scroll through our phones. Others may want a quiet, peaceful massage to unwind. While some, like myself, want to spend the day being pampered.

I was fortunate enough to have Spa on the Boulevard host me for the better part of a Saturday. Having already been a guest there, I knew just how special this place was before I arrived. The roots of this spa go back to 1990 when the owner, Debbie Nazelrod, opened her first in the line of beautiful spa locations to come.

Entering this spa you immediately get a boutique feel. From the glamorous decor to the multitude of product options for sale, the abundance of friendly staff to the comfy waiting areas. There is no lack of feeling welcomed right off the bat. After filling out my intake paperwork, I was escorted to the women’s locker room to change into a comfy robe and sandals. From there you are able to wait in the relaxation room or spend time in either the sauna or steam room.

The locker room is filled with anything and everything you made need to get ready after your treatments. Hairdryers, q-tips, deodorant, you name it and it was probably there! My day was centered around the ‘Essentials Package’ which includes a 60 min massage, 60 min facial, lunch, manicure, and pedicure.

Starting off immediately with the relaxing and very enjoyable facial. If you’ve never had one before, I highly recommend it. I received the AVEDA Personalized Facial which included cleansing, exfoliation, facial massage, arm and hand massage, extractions, treatment masque and moisturizer. It truly allows you to understand your skin as your esthetician examines every inch of it. Christine was so easy to talk to and helped me ease into my day with fun chit chat.

Immediately after my facial, I was whisked away for the massage. Brenda gave off a great energy and was immediately easy to relate to. With a mix of peppermint and vanilla oils, I drifted off to a place of deep relaxation while she touched on all the trouble spots I have. It was a great disconnect in my otherwise chaotic world.

After the massage ended, I headed into the relaxation room and cafe area to enjoy lunch. The room is equipped with lounge seating to take a minute and collect yourself between services, hangout in the quiet, and rehydrate from their well stocked refreshment area. While the cafe area serves as a place to enjoy your meal privately without disrupting any of the other guests.

Once lunch was finished, I headed back to the front desk to re-check in for the rest of my services. Because I had finished early, I took a seat in the quaint and very cute waiting area located behind the desk. This was an enjoyable time for me because almost everyone that walked by commented on my new jumpsuit. It had me feeling pretty, pampered, and noticed. I was on top of the world.

Robin came to get me from the waiting area and take me to where I’d get my pedicure done. She was a kind woman that I found very easy to get along with. Even taking the time (without fuss) to redo a toenail when the divider messed one up. Immediately after the pedicure, she took me to her table for my gel manicure. Robin recommended an amazing product to me, the Key West Salt Scrub which came in a variety of scents. I grabbed the coconut and love, love, love using it. Not only does it make my hands feel soft but the salt acts as a healer for any cracked cuticles I may have.

The Essentials package spa day was complete, but the spa was kind enough to fit me in for my hair also. With a black tie event that evening, I was desperate for something beautiful. Luckily Laura knew just what to do.

Every single one of these ladies were kind, welcoming, and made me feel right at home throughout my day. From beginning to end I received the most spectacular service. It was a Mother’s Day treat fit for a Queen(Bee).

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, let the lucky lady in your life know how much you love her by treating her to a spa service (or four). This particular spa has so many great specials going on, you’re sure to find the right fit for anyone! And with Father’s Day coming up next month, you can even make it a couple’s spa day!

Enjoy your day momma’s!
