gone fishin’ for a birthday party

The time has come, we’re in birthday party season! After Valentine’s Day every year we turn on the switch for upcoming parties to celebrate Cam and Lily’s birthday. I always give them the opportunity to come up with a theme they’d like to see that year then I take it and run. I’m happy to report that the themes for this year are both things the kids are heavily into right now. We’ve got time before I pull together goodies for Lily’s party which I’m so excited about, however it’s time to share Cam’s choice for his 9th birthday – gone fishin’ party!

Here are a few of our previous parties – gotta catch ’em all (pokemon), everything is awesome (lego), nerf or nothin’, and purrrfect party (kitty).

However I don’t usually share the details until the party has taken place. Then, I pull together details, links, and photos to share everything. This year I’m so excited about how the little things are coming along that I thought I’d give you a peek of the party through the party flatlay. Meanwhile you can see a few of the small shops, little details that really make a difference, and how my party planning brain is working. Firstly this invitation was made in Canva and printed at our local Walmart. A quirky tag line and the details is all we need to bring our friends to our gone fishin’ party.

backstory

If you have been around since we bought the beach house (in ’21) you have watched Camden’s love for fishing grow exponentially. While the ability to surf fish on the beach, toss a line in at the dock, head to a pond with his Pop, or hike to the creek in our backyard – he always has a fishing pole in hand. Obviously the most fitting theme was obviously a gone fishin’ party.

Undeniably, this isn’t a theme that comes with a lot of inspiration as most of the ‘fish’ parties are goldfish and/or cartoon type fish. Still after a little bit of searching and my vision came to life quickly. Specifically there has been a lot of help from my favorites small shops and brands. Below are links to the products shown above.
